Get the Right Attention for Your Hotel and Go Green

It is no longer news that the environment needs our help. What may be news is how going green can benefit your company as much as it can benefit the planet. Surely, being a good global citizen and leading by example can help you rest easy at night, but increased revenues, lower energy costs, and even some tax breaks can help you sleep even better.

Travelers are more globally conscience than they have been at any other point in history. For better or worse, the digital age has made us all aware of the problems the rest of the world is experiencing. This is why many travelers prefer to stay at environmentally hotels and some major travel sites list Green hotels in bold lettering and give them a priority listing.

When you are dealing with hundreds of rooms throughout a large building, or even several buildings, the energy costs alone can be high. Installing new energy efficient equipment can reduce energy usage and costs tremendously. In some cases, major hotels have seen water usage drop nearly 40%, while electricity usage can be cut in half.

Since we are more aware of our planet, governments all across the globe are doling out incentives and tax breaks for businesses looking to Go Green. Incentives are available for doing a variety of different things. You can get tax credits for green building design or an incentive for installing equipment to cool a structure.
